Thank you for attending !
Welcome to the 2nd Annual Flight SimCon event!
Flight SimCon provides a social conference format with networking and learning for enthusiasts of desktop flight simulation programs and aviation in general.  If you are involved with flight simulation programs such as Microsoft Flight Simulator (FSX/FS9) or X-Plane - and especially in the multiplayer environment - this conference is for you.

Simulation Pit Builders:
This year's theme is SimPit building!   The surge of equipment, electronics, software, construction and development companies is driving a tremendous interest in building life-size and fully functional flight deck replica's.  Flight SimCon 2014 will seek to focus on this trend by inviting suppliers and sponsors to exhibit, and inviting enthusiasts with functioning simpits to showcase their project.  The expectation is to have several simpits of various designs to exhibit ranging from "sawed off" cockpits from actual aircraft with rewired controls, to "glass cockpit" Airbus style flight decks.  Suppliers, exhibitors, designers, and enthusiasts of simpitting should definitely make plans to attend.

LAN Networked Multiplayers:
Last years success of the LAN Team was only the beginning.  This year we hope to showcase as many as 30 networked flight stations all operating in a LAN / online environment.  LAN Team participants from any multiplayer community are encouraged to participate providing they can function in a fully supervised airspace.  Air traffic control services will be provided by Boston Virtual ATC's controllers.  For more information about LAN Team, or to learn how to participate please download the following document.

Career Opportunities:
Recent studies have indicated a massive shortage of commercial pilots in the coming decade, and a current shortage of training capacity to replace them.  We believe that today's multiplayer flight sim enthusiast can be the working pilot or air traffic controller of tomorrow.  We believe that those who learn flight operations via these programs can have a tremendous competitive edge in hiring, training, ability, and safety.  Modern desktop flight simulation programs support not only a fun and educational  experience, but also a massive underground following.  We believe that this following can be an untapped resource for the future of global aviation. This conference will support that development and we continue to seek and encourage flight training sponsors of all sorts to exhibit.

Social Opportunities:
If you are a flight sim enthusiast participating in multiplayer environments such as Boston Virtual ATC, VATSIM, FSHost, IVAO, or FSN Virtual  – this conference is definitely for you.  This is an opportunity to turn what you love to do online into a real world opportunity for advancement development and good fun with peers.  You won’t want to miss it.  Multiplayer flight sim enthusiasts function as an online community, but typically without ever meeting their online friends face-to-face.  This conference will turn what may have been a solitary experience of gaming into a real world opportunity for friendship, networking, learning, growth, and fun.

The event features vendors and suppliers of flight simulation equipment, software and hardware, as well as vendors of real world equipment and training for real world aviation.  Keynote speakers will enrich the program with their advice and knowledge, while breakout sessions on topics of interest will spur discussion, networking, opportunity, and learning.

This is an all ages conference.  We recognize that multiplayer flight simulation can benefit the young student just as much as it benefits the retired airline pilot.  We  anticipate attendees ranging from age 14 to 70, from all walks of life, and all are welcome.  We all share the common thread of the love of flight and we will all benefit from our shared experiences.

If you are a fanatic of aviation or flight simulation of any sort, this is a conference you'll definitely want to attend.
